The middle one appeared, resting on an easel, on Jenya's Facebook awhile back. It and another were marketed to me yesterday by Robert Bane Studios. They are asking $45,000 for the middle one. They must have confused me with Bill Gates. I'm more than happy with my John Cox original oil at a fraction of the price they are asking for the Perez painting.
Jenmyluv, I seriously doubt that the photos Mr. Perez took of Jenya will ever be released, sadly. Just like photographers, artists like Mr. Fabian and myself have to have model releases signed by the model or her agent for the rights to use the photos. The use is very specific. I probably have a couple of thousand slides in three ring binders and CD's since I switched to using digital SLR cameras, of models I have hired.Every set has a model release as the first page or a scanned copy of the original on the CD. The release is a legal contract betwen the artist and model. It, as I said specifies what the images are to be used for in a painters case, that is for reference material for original paintings and reproductions of the painting. It also specifies the hourly payment to the model and there is a start time and end time of the session. Without one of these a artist or photographer leaves themselves open to the possibility of a lawsuit.
I do not know if you are old enough to remember the lawsuits between Penthouse magzine and former Miss America, Vanessa Williams, http://www.nytimes.com/1984/07/24/nyregion/miss-america-case-claims-conflict.html As an independent, hard working, honest artist of 40 years, I have no desire to get into these kinds of problems over a photo or a series of photos. I suspect Mr. Perez feels the same way as does Bane galleries which has already been forced out of businss once because of lawsuits in the past.
Because of Jenya's limited use of the English language and maybe no ability to read it well enough to fully understand and her connection to Playboy, I would bet some serious money, I don't have that someone in the Playboy legal department read and advised her on any releases she thought of signing. She has worked for Met Art, European Playboys and other internet publishers enough that she knows everything there is to know about releases. She has a name and image recognition that needs to be protected and she has done a great job of going from a teen model into the top of the big time for this type of modeling. I'll gaurantee Playboy and other publishers have very good releases and for every photo session done with any and all models. This is not a tare issue, either. It is a standard of the business when working with models.
Do you know that you cannot use an image of the past actor, John Wayne for profit in any form or medium without going through the company run by his son, Michael Wayne and buying the one time rights to his image and it is very specific, as well as costly. They will and do sue over this. Buying the rights is done because he is deceased, but it is basically the same thing as a model release. Sorry I was so wordy, but I hope it helps in understanding this issue and Mr. Perez's photos.

i thought one looked familiar, but was too lazy to look it up. What i really wish they would do is release or sell the photos Mr. Perez took of her.
